The story behind the lyrics is tragic. I really held onto every word of it. Annabel and the Artist, the Thespian and the murder. it is very dark and crazed. Just look at the album cover. The Artist cannot take the torture.

The story behind the lyrics has already been written. It's a poem by Edgar Allen Poe called 'Annabel Lee'.

Not to say that The Emptiness album NARRATES Annabel Lee (which, as it so happens, is ONLY a poem, not a poem AND a story,) but the album is CERTAINLY based on it. If I decide that the album is about an abused puppy fleeing to a circus, one cannot truly declare me wrong. Music is an art, and art is subjective.
