As I stare the sun in the face
I can feel its warm embrace.
And I rise...
And I rise...
And I rise up.
(And I rise up)

Staring out over the sea
I feel the waves wash over me.
The tide pulls back and it renders me clean.
As the sun shines down, it's like a dream.
I give my problems to yesterday
'cause if I don't, they'll surely stay.
The hands of the clock, they never slow
but at least I know just where to go.

Keys in the ignition and I hear the motor start.
I'm on a mission to take my life and break it apart.
My thoughts are passing by and I get lost in the road.
I'm running on empty but I can't seem to stop or slow.
(Can't seem to stop or slow)
(Can't seem to stop or slow)

Staring out over the sea
I feel the waves wash over me.
The tide pulls back and it renders me clean.
As the sun shines down, it's like a dream.
I give my problems to yesterday
'cause if I don't, they'll surely stay.
The hands of the clock, they never slow
but at least I know just where to go.

I watch the night fall and I stop to get some air,
gaze up at the dark sky and I notice that the moon's not there.
Funny how my mind is clouded, the clouds have run the moon away.
While I'm not back to normal, I'll make it there someday.
(I'll make it there someday)
(I'll make it there someday)

Staring out over the sea
I feel the waves wash over me.
The tide pulls back and it renders me clean.
As the sun shines down, it's like a dream.
I give my problems to yesterday
'cause if I don't, they'll surely stay.
The hands of the clock, they never slow
but at least I know just where to go.
(Just where to go)
