This track, The Beginning, the first half of this song, was written for the trailer for
X-Men: Days of Future Past.
They needed a track to serve as the intro for this big, epic movie,
so the first minute of this song is what I wrote for the film and what appears in
the trailer. One of the trailers.
When the decision was made to include it as part of the album as a whole,
I wrote the big, techy war drum section.
The pulses during the back end are a mix of synths layered with, uhh.
chopped up, distorted cello.
Since this track is already part of a trailer, I wanted it to
introduce the album like a big, cinematic landscape opening up in front of you.
