You can't talk
I'm anxious
I'm off the walls
I'm right here just
Come outside
And see it
But pack your heart
You might need it

I'll find a way
I'll confuse them
But I think I can try
I will save your life
I will save your life
I'll try for you

You're locked up
You exhaled
You did it before
I seen it
Come outside
And breathe in
Relax your arms
And let me in

I'll find a way
I'll confuse them
But I think I can try
I will save your life
I will save your life
I'll try for you

I know what to say to take you
Higher, higher
No one else can take you higher
But I will try

I'll find a way
I'll confuse them
But I think I can try
I will save your life
I will save your life
I'll try

I'll find a way
I'll confuse them
But I think I can try
I will save your life
I will save your life
I'll try for you

For you

About This Song

"Risk" is an emotionally charged track that explores themes of mental health crisis and desperate attempts at connection, with the narrator pleading to help someone who appears to be struggling with anxiety or depression. The lyrics convey a sense of urgency and confusion as the speaker tries to reach out to someone who has withdrawn, offering salvation while acknowledging their own uncertainty about how to help. Musically, the song showcases Deftones' signature atmospheric heaviness, blending ethereal melodies with crushing guitar work that mirrors the emotional weight of the subject matter. The track exemplifies the band's ability to transform personal vulnerability into powerful sonic landscapes, making it a standout piece from their critically acclaimed Diamond Eyes album. The song's raw honesty about mental health struggles and the difficulty of supporting loved ones through dark times resonates deeply with listeners who have faced similar situations.

He looked good in the new video I thought, he has definitely lost a lot of weight...

Maybe instead of criticizing Chino for being over weight you should try and learn how to fucking type and spell. Or is it you just don't know how to speak English very well? Chino can always loose the weight, but you will always be a fag. LAWL.

Definately one of my personal favorites, especially the line "Come outside and see it, but pack your heart you might need it". It just sticks with me for some reason. No one can match Chino's unique voice. I hope they still plan on releasing Eros soon. One love for Chi!

This song reminds me of the old deftones mixed with the now. Beatiful piece.

Love it. Can't wait for Eros, I'm sure it will be as amazing as deftones always are. Hope Chi is better soon. x

Re: 3 comments down - I don't think he's saying anything after confused. If you really listen to it, it just sounds like "confused-a". I think it's coming from the way he exhales on the hard "d" in confused.Anyway, there's a really great theory about how this entire album is actually from Chi's perspective in his current comatose state and it tells a tale of a male and female deity. Google "TomIn703 Diamond Eyes".

Maybe the song is about someone thay Chi loves that finds no purpose and he is willing to show her all his love to save her.

The song is about Chi, and the name is because they like playing Risk (the board game) through the writing process. Chi loved the game and he was the best in it. (sorry about my English).
