So, this one goes out to you guys
Thank you very much for hanging out
And we'll see you very soon, I think

What you're gonna do?

Hello
I've waited here for you
Everlong

Tonight
I throw myself into
Out of the red, out of her head she sang
Here we go

Come down
And waste away with me
Down with me
Slow how
You wanted it to be
I'm over my head, out of her head she sang (sing it)

And I wonder
When I sing along with you (sing along)

If everything could ever feel this real forever
If anything could ever be this good again
The only thing I'll ever ask of you
You gotta promise not to stop when I say when
She sang

Breathe out
So I can breathe you in
Hold you in
And now
I know you've always been there
Out of your head, out of my head I sang
And I wonder
When I sing along with you, sing it again

If everything could ever feel this real forever
If anything could ever be this good again
The only thing I'll ever ask of you
You gotta promise not to stop when I say when
She sang

Alright. Ready?
This is it, we're gonna dance
Come on
Oh, yeah!

And I wonder
Sing it again

If everything could ever feel this real forever
If anything could ever be this good again
The only thing I'll ever ask of you
You gotta promise not to stop when I say when

Thanks a lot, you guys
That was a good night
We'll see you soon, thank you very much
Take care of yourself, bye

About This Song

"Everlong" is a deeply emotional exploration of romantic obsession and the desperate desire to make transcendent moments permanent. Beneath its driving alternative rock surface, the song captures the intoxicating feeling of being completely consumed by someone-the way love can make time feel both eternal and fleeting simultaneously. Dave Grohl's lyrics express a yearning that borders on desperation, with the narrator pleading for his beloved to "waste away" with him, suggesting a willingness to lose himself entirely in the relationship. The song's title itself reflects this central tension: the desire for something beautiful to last "everlong," even as the narrator recognizes its ephemeral nature. Musically, the track showcases the Foo Fighters' evolution from Grohl's earlier grunge roots into a more melodic, dynamic sound, featuring intricate guitar work that shifts between whispered verses and explosive, cathartic choruses. The production creates an almost dreamlike quality that mirrors the lyrics' themes of reality blurring with desire. The song's emotional intensity and musical craftsmanship struck a chord with listeners who recognized their own experiences of all-consuming love and the fear of losing something precious. Its enduring popularity stems from how it captures that universal human longing to freeze perfect moments in time, making the temporary feel infinite.

It's Kurt but nevertheless, I still think Dave Grohl is more talented.

Whoever thinks foo fighters are a better band than nirvana clearly understands very little about the meaning behind their songs. That being said foo fighters are amazing...nirvanas just better

They are two different bands. Both equally good in different ways. Dave admits that Kurt was a better song writer. He just had the right mind for being really simple but deep. NIRVANA is an alternative band. Foo Fighters are a rock band. Its not the same. You cant compare them.
