Too alarming now to talk about
Take your pictures down and shake it out
Truth or consequence, say it aloud
Use that evidence, race it around

There goes my hero
Watch him as he goes

There goes my hero
He's ordinary

Don't the best of them bleed it out?
While the rest of them peter out
Truth or consequence, say it aloud
Use that evidence, race it around

There goes my hero
Watch him as he goes

There goes my hero
He's ordinary

Kudos, my hero leaving all the best
You know my hero, the one that's on

There goes my hero
Watch him as he goes

There goes my hero
He's ordinary

There goes my hero
Watch him as he goes

There goes my hero
He's ordinary

About This Song

"My Hero" is a poignant rock anthem that subverts expectations by celebrating the quiet strength of ordinary people rather than traditional heroes or celebrities. The lyrics reflect on how real heroism lies not in fame or glory, but in the everyday courage of regular individuals who face life's challenges with dignity-the song's central irony being that the "hero" is described as "ordinary." Musically, the track features Foo Fighters' signature dynamic shifts, building from subdued verses to soaring, emotionally charged choruses with Dave Grohl's passionate vocals and powerful guitar work. The song captures themes of disillusionment with false idols and the recognition that true inspiration comes from those who "bleed it out" through life's struggles without fanfare. It became one of the band's most beloved tracks for its heartfelt message and remains a touching tribute to unsung heroes everywhere.

My brother was a quad...this song reminded me of him. He passed on Monday, June the 21st @ 12:34 am...NEVER COMPLAINED and he was a quad for 29 years! Don't even mention that your body hurts from the shoulders down, 'cos I would only laugh when I think of my brother, James Alexander Brown!
