Gorillaz – Feel Good Inc. Lyrics

Alternative

Feel good
Sha, sha-ba-da, sha-ba-da-ca, feel good
Sha, sha-ba-da, sha-ba-da-ca, feel good
Sha, sha-ba-da, sha-ba-da-ca, feel good
Sha, sha-ba-da, sha-ba-da-ca, feel good

Sha, sha-ba-da, sha-ba-da-ca, feel good
Sha, sha-ba-da, sha-ba-da-ca, feel good
Sha, sha-ba-da, sha-ba-da-ca, feel good
Sha, sha-ba-da, sha-ba-da-ca, feel good

City's breaking down on a camel's back
They just have to go, 'cause they don't know wack
So while you fill the streets, it's appealing to see
You won't get out the county, 'cause you're bad and free

You got a new horizon, it's ephemeral style
A melancholy town where we never smile
And all I wanna hear is the message beep
My dreams, they got a kissing
'Cause I don't get sleep, no

Windmill, windmill for the land
Turn forever hand in hand
Take it all in on your stride
It is ticking, falling down
Love forever, love is freely
Turned forever, you and me
Windmill, windmill for the land
Is everybody in?

Laughin' gas these hazmats, fast cats
Linin' 'em up like ass cracks
Play these ponies at the track
It's my chocolate attack

Shit, I'm steppin' in the heart of this here (yeah)
Care Bear rappin' in harder this year (yeah)
Watch me as I gravitate, ha-ha-ha-ha-ha

Yo, we gon' ghost town this Motown
With yo' sound, you in the blink
Gon' bite the dust, can't fight with us
With yo' sound, you kill the Inc
So don't stop, get it, get it (get it)
Until you're cheddar headed
And watch the way I navigate
Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha

Sha, sha-ba-da, sha-ba-da-ca, feel good
Sha, sha-ba-da, sha-ba-da-ca, feel good
Sha, sha-ba-da, sha-ba-da-ca, feel good
Sha, sha-ba-da, sha-ba-da-ca, feel good

Windmill, windmill for the land
Turn forever hand in hand
Take it all in on your stride
It is ticking, falling down
Love forever, love is freely
Turned forever, you and me
Windmill, windmill for the land
Is everybody in?

Don't stop, get it, get it (sha, sha-ba-da)
Peep how your captain's in it (sha-ba-da-ca, feel good)
Steady, watch me navigate (sha, sha-ba-da)
Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha (sha-ba-da-ca, feel good)

Don't stop, get it, get it (sha, sha-ba-da)
Peep how your captain's in it (sha-ba-da-ca, feel good)
Steady, watch me navigate (sha, sha-ba-da)
Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha (sha-ba-da-ca, feel good)

Sha, sha-ba-da, sha-ba-da-ca, feel good
Sha, sha-ba-da, sha-ba-da-ca, feel good
Sha, sha-ba-da, sha-ba-da-ca, feel good
Sha, sha-ba-da, sha-ba-da-ca, feel good

About This Song

"Feel Good Inc" is a dystopian critique of artificial happiness and media-manufactured contentment disguised as an infectious pop anthem. The song explores themes of urban decay, consumerism, and the illusion of freedom within modern society, with the titular "Feel Good Inc" representing a metaphorical corporation that sells false euphoria to distract people from systemic problems. Damon Albarn's melancholic vocals contrast sharply with De La Soul's rap verses, creating a musical tension that mirrors the song's central paradox of feeling trapped while being told to feel good. The production brilliantly fuses alternative rock with hip-hop, featuring a hypnotic bassline, ethereal strings, and a distinctive laugh sample that becomes increasingly unsettling as the song progresses. The lyrics paint a picture of people stuck in an endless cycle, "bad and free" but unable to escape their circumstances, while the windmill in the music video serves as a symbol of authentic, sustainable happiness existing just out of reach. The song's genius lies in how it makes listeners dance to their own entrapment, using an irresistibly catchy melody to deliver a sobering message about how society pacifies dissent through entertainment and false promises. This duality between surface-level joy and underlying despair resonated deeply with audiences in the mid-2000s, capturing the zeitgeist of post-9/11 anxiety and growing awareness of corporate manipulation. The track became Gorillaz's biggest hit because it perfectly encapsulated the band's mission of using cartoon avatars to reveal uncomfortable truths about reality.

This songs actually got a big soul to it. Watch the video to understand what I talking about.Feel Good inc. is a brothel (basically living and head for prostitutes) 2D, Murdoc, and Russel are the only things on earth that are not tempted by the distractions around them. 2D speaking into a megaphone like an activist trying to get people out of this I-don't-care attitude. And while theres so much going around them; 2D only sees Noodle and the windmill outside a dirty window. De La Soul are trying to reel in 2D into thier grasp and it looks like its definetly taking a toll on him. In the end and the beginning he say "feel good", as if trying to calm himself and reasurring himself that everything's alright.
