sometimes it's so easy to feel like giving up
despite everything I always seem to do before I think and mess up
push me away and hold me close
I'll be the person you can always rely on but you can't stand the most
thoughts recollected from a time when I had independence I'd walk in your footprints I'd be anything that you want me to be
don't ask me how I'm feeling, I'm just fine
all these things I can't control they get a hold of me
and my hopes are fading like I'm drifting out to sea
anchor me because I have no way of finding home
I know I can't and won't do all of this
on my own
and honestly if you kept
a thought of me
you would never have gone and made the same mistakes
countless times I've wondered if everything we've ever done
meant a thing to you
cherishing every time I feel okay
confused at how little time it took you
to leave and go on your own way
all these things I can't control they get a hold of me
