About Harvey Danger
Harvey Danger was a Seattle-based indie rock band formed in 1992 who became synonymous with clever, literary pop-punk through their breakout hit "Flagpole Sitta," a sardonic anthem about conformity and mental health that became a defining song of late-90s alternative rock. Their debut album "Where Have All The Merrymakers Gone?" showcased Sean Nelson's witty, neurotic lyrics over jangly guitars and infectious melodies that captured the post-grunge Pacific Northwest sound. Though they never replicated the mainstream success of "Flagpole Sitta," the band evolved into respected indie darlings, eventually becoming one of the first major acts to release an album (2005's "Little by Little") completely free online. Their smart, self-aware approach to rock music and pioneering embrace of digital distribution made them cult heroes who influenced a generation of indie bands before disbanding in 2009.
