About Heaven 17

Heaven 17 is a British synth-pop group formed in Sheffield in 1980 by former Human League members Martyn Ware and Ian Craig Marsh, alongside vocalist Glenn Gregory. Their sophisticated blend of electronic production, funk rhythms, and socially conscious lyrics created a distinctive sound that bridged new wave and dance music, exemplified on hits like "Temptation" and albums such as "Penthouse and Pavement." Songs like "Let Me Go" and "Come Live with Me" showcased their ability to craft both club-ready anthems and introspective ballads, while tracks like "Crushed by the Wheels of Industry" demonstrated their political edge.
