The summer is falling away
The days will grow darker still
And we will shine if it is our will
Even as the blue sky is turning gray
You've shown me the golden seeds
The love that binds the moon and sea
And how to find my way back home
These are the feathers that I now hold
The things you gave and showed and told
They're all I have now that you have flown
Feathers will fall with the snow
Some will stay and some will go
They will be as black as black and gold
Like the children of the night sky and the crow
We may wander east or west
Or into the serpent's nest
But the rivers remain
The strings we tied to each other's bones
Will always guide us home
No matter how far we've strayed
