Looking out at a city so bright
Darkened, inside the eyelids
You handed over your treasures
Like they hadn’t even become yours yet
Whispering out, “Why do I..”
...and, “How has it come to this?”
A moment’s of interaction
Sanctified by a wish
But the ringing is calling me out
The greatest distraction
I’ll give away all of it
Through emotional reaction
I am made of time
