Lecrae – Go Hard Lyrics

Hip Hop/Rap

Go hard (go hard)
Or go home (go home)
Go hard (go hard)
Or go home (go home)
Go hard (go hard)
Or go home (go home)
Go hard (go hard)
Or go home (go home)
Go hard (go hard)
Or go home (go home)
Go hard (go hard)
Or go home (go home)
Go hard (go hard)
Or go home (go home)
Go hard (go hard)
Or go home (go home)

Go hard (go hard)
Or go home (go home)
Go hard (go hard)
Or go home (go home)
Lord, use me (Lord, use me)
Lord, use me (Lord, use me)
Lord, use me (Lord, use me)
Lord, use me (Lord, use me)

Lord, kill me If I don't preach the gospel
I'm still in my twenties, but I'll die if I got to
Eh man, I'm already dead, man, forget my flesh
I done been crossed over, see the full court press
I'm a full court mess if the Lord don't use me
Running from my trials thinkin' everything's groovy
If the cross don't move me then I don't wanna breath no more
If I ain't seeing Christ, partner, I don't wanna see no more
Rep Him every day without worrying about a bruising
I been to China, man, I seen some real persecution
If you didn't know Christ, would your life look the same?
Can they tell you value Jesus by the way you rep his name?
Man, what's the point of living if I'm living for myself?
Lord, empty out my life before I put you on the shelf
So for God, I go hard, I don't wanna die tonight
But there's too many people living who ain't heard about the Christ

Go hard or go home
Go hard or go home
Go hard or go home
Go hard or go home
Lord use me up
Lord use me up
Lord use me up
Lord use me up

Go hard or go home
Go hard or go home
Go hard or go home
Go hard or go home
Lord use me up
Lord use me up
Lord use me up
Lord use me up

Went to Asia had to duck and hide for sharin' my faith
They tell me water it down when I get back to states
They say tone the music down, you might sell a lot of records, but it's people out here dying and none of 'em heard the message
Took my wifey on mission trip in Central America
Shared her testimony, 40 people stood and stared at her
When she said Jesus, should have seen, it was insane
Cause 40 out of 40 never heard of Jesus name
Oh man, we ain't focused on the war we just kickin' it
Worried bout our image and our space up on the internet
Take me out the game coach I don't wanna play no mo
If can't give it all I got and leave it out there on the court
Thank you for the Grace for the will and the desire
Got me living for your glory stead of living to retire
But I pray I'll never tire of going hard for Messiah
I don't need no motivation, You the reason I'm inspired

Go hard or go home
Go hard or go home
Go hard or go home
Go hard or go home
Lord use me up
Lord use me up
Lord use me up
Lord use me up

Go hard or go home
Go hard or go home
Go hard or go home
Go hard or go home
Lord use me up
Lord use me up
Lord use me up
Lord use me up

Go Hard for the Lord baby 'til He takes us home
Go Hard for the Father baby go on get it on
That's what that is baby, that what that mean, that what that mean
That what That is baby, That what that mean, that what that mean
Wha-What that mean?
That mean that we, should be out up in the streets
Not just in houses with our bible's summarizing what we read
Man this ain't deep (man this ain't deep), why we ain't doing what we read
Its like we sleep (its like we sleep)
But sinners sleepwalk when they sleep
So why can't we (so why can't we), the redeemed of the Lord
Act out, what He said, and make a scene for the Lord
Action-cut, say what, like we was the director
But you better get a Grip like movie sets, and get to stepping (Martin)
I know you done it da-done it, da-done-and heard it all
You was going hard for the Lord before you heard this song
But don't play yourself to save ya self and walk in fear
Scripture's like a mirror, the truth is closer than it appears

Go hard or go home
Go hard or go home
Go hard or go home
Go hard or go home
Lord use me up
Lord use me up
Lord use me up
Lord use me up

Go hard or go home
Go hard or go home
Go hard or go home
Go hard or go home
Lord use me up
Lord use me up
Lord use me up
Lord use me up

About This Song

"Go Hard" is Lecrae's raw declaration of total spiritual surrender, where the rapper grapples with the tension between his human desires and his calling to spread the gospel at any cost. The song's central theme revolves around dying to oneself-literally asking God to "kill" him if he fails in his mission-reflecting the Christian concept of crucifying the flesh to live for Christ. Lecrae's lyrics reveal a young man in his twenties wrestling with the weight of ministry, expressing both desperation and determination as he pleads for God to use him completely, even if it means personal sacrifice or suffering. The production features a hard-hitting, aggressive beat that mirrors the intensity of his spiritual wrestling, with the repetitive hook "Go Hard Go Home / Lord Use Me Up" serving as both a battle cry and a prayer of submission. What makes the track distinctive is its unflinching honesty about the cost of discipleship-Lecrae doesn't romanticize faith but presents it as a demanding, all-consuming commitment that requires abandoning personal comfort and safety. The song resonated deeply with Christian hip-hop audiences because it articulated the internal struggle many believers face between worldly ambitions and spiritual calling, while also demonstrating that faith-based rap could be just as intense and authentic as secular hip-hop. This track helped establish Lecrae as a voice willing to confront the harder aspects of Christianity rather than offering easy answers or superficial encouragement.

While I am a sixty-one male, I am most of ALL a redeemed child of the Living GOD, and an ambassador of the kingdom of Heaven. As such, I LOVE this song!!! Whatever is of GOD is wonderful to me, and Lecrae has brought a word from GOD to the world that is so very powerful everyone needs to hear its encouragement to be strong in CHRIST JESUS. I'm not of the rap era - obviously - but I will share this with my friends - young and old! GOD continue to bless you my brother, and continue to sir up the gift(s) of GOD within you!! "Let no one dispise your youth..." I Tim. 4:12

Wow, every song on this album has to be good. That's pretty rare. Every song covers different issues facing the world. This one is to say that when you're on missions you go hard preaching and you never let up.Also the expensive comment—you don't need CD's to be a Christian, Lecrea just made these CD's because he's using his gifts God gave him to drive Christians. Just look at Jesus he didn't even have a casstte player! Lol. Hard leather bibles are expensive but the only people that actually need that kind of quality are full-blown missionaries that need good quality!

this is a great song to really get hype in the spirit. like the prophet Isaiah said. Lord use me. when we allow the Holy spirit to just come in and move in us around us for us and thru us, great and unimaginable things happen but we must learn to listen and yield. GO HARD for christ!

I don't know what Christian Bookstore you've been going to but try Family Christian. I work there and this cd is NOT over $20. It's MAYBE $14 at the most! We do have to price a lot of things higher than say Walmart though because we aren't as large of a chain and stuff. Smaller stores means larger prices. But at Family Christian Stores, a percentage of all our profits goes to missions, specifically the James Fund! Awesome, right? Hope that clears things up (:
