Natalie Grant – Clean Lyrics

Christian

I see a shatter, you see whole
I see it broken, but you see beautiful
And you're helping me to believe
You're restoring me, piece by piece

There's nothing too dirty
That you can't make worthy
You wash me in mercy
I am clean

There's nothing too dirty
That you can't make worthy
You wash me in mercy
I am clean

What was dead now lives again
My heart's beating, beatin' inside my chest
Oh, I'm comin' alive with joy and destiny
Oh-oh, 'cause you're restorin' me piece by piece, oh

There's nothing too dirty
That you can't make worthy
You wash me in mercy
I am clean, oh, yeah

There's nothing too dirty
That you can't make worthy
You wash me in mercy
I am clean

Washed in the blood of your sacrifice
Your blood flowed red and made me white
My dirty rags are purified
I am clean

Washed in the blood of your sacrifice
Your blood flowed red and made me white
My dirty rags are purified
I'm clean, I'm clean, oh-oh

Washed in the blood of your sacrifice
Your blood flowed red and made me white
My dirty rags are purified
I'm clean

I am clean
I'm clean
Oh, you made me, you washed me clean
Oh, you made me clean

I find the line, "he made me white," inappropriate. It smacks too closely to offensive White Supremacist rhetoric. Clean, pure, free of sin, perhaps, but not white. I suggest if you need a rhyming word, go back to the drawing board or rewrite the lines. Unless you are, indeed, promoting White Supremacy.

Im sorry. I see differently. He made me white. Is just what its mean: He made me white. Even God himself says, though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow. When He said that, he wasn't talking about White Supremacist. He was talking about freedom from sin.You really should go back to your drawing board or rewrite the lines of your comment.
