Ozzy Osbourne – Diggin’ Me Down Lyrics

Rock

You're saving the saved, men and women enslaved
Propagating the messiah conception
The rich getting richer, paint you into their picture
Give the poor immaculate deception

Where are you father?
Why don't you save us?
The fallen are dying alone
How can you turn off their cries?
Ignore a new genocide?

So come on, Jesus
We're all here waiting just for you

How long must we keep on waiting?
The faithful and blind are keepin' me keepin' me down
How long, 'cause my faith is breaking
The pure and divine are diggin' me diggin' me down

Do you live in the light?
Or in the dead of the night?
Sanctimonious promises broken
Hypocritical sin
Dying slowly within
Is the sacred truth forever unspoken?

Life ever after, bohemian rapture
Beware the dark side of the son
You're just a self-made messiah
Selling brimstone and fire

So come on Jesus
Don't keep us waiting here for you

How long must we keep on waiting?
The faithful and blind are bringin' me bringin' me down
How long, 'cause my faith is breaking
The pure and divine are diggin' me diggin' me down

How will I know you mister Jesus Christ?
Have you already been here once or twice?
The son of man or obsolete facade?
How will I know that you're the son of God?

I fing this song VERRY OFFENSIVE,,I thought that he wouldent go to this level to dish Jesus,,My LORD...Im just wothout words, I would expect this from Marilyn Manson,,I liked his stuff in the 80s when I was a teenager,,now Im in my 40s and thought he was more of an artest than this..I know there are going to be some young people who thing this stuff is so cool..But come on lets show some respect..

I'm not sure why anyone is surprised that Ozzy would question Jesus. While many of his songs have a spiritual component, he is a poor philosopher. This song poses the "Problem of Evil" argument, wherein God cannot exist because He doesn't fix all of the world's ills. If the self-declared Prince of Darkness understood the reality of the REAL Prince of Darkness, he'd know that evil is a result of man's free will, not God's inaction.

Ozzy is a great philosopher. You guys are totally misinterpreting this song. What he's getting around to is that we're wasting our time waiting for some Messiah to come fix all our problems when we could find the power in ourselves, to fix our own problems. That's why he's saying "The pure and divine are diggin' me diggin' me down," cause you religious lot waiting on Jesus are just wasting time doing nothing and letting things get worse in the world.

This are the spoken words of many people. I am christian and I know that its hard to see the evil around the world, the poor becomming poorest, and the rich even richer. The ills with no cure, kids abused by relatives or priests stolen money of the congregation and more that you already know. Sometime we all ask this question to Jesus: When are you coming back? But the real question we must do is: What am I doing to make this world a better place? Let Ozzy say what he feels.

Awaken! It is up to all of us as humans (created/born of a creator and part of all of that which was created) to make the world a better place for everyone and everything! What Jesus was trying to teach was "creator/god within" and affirmation of thought. People choose to do what the will. What is your choice? pain/suffering/hell on earth or pleasure/happiness/heaven on earth? "It's up to you"-"I Don't Know" Ozzy OsbourneBut that is just my opinion on the subject.

Shining some light onto you bigoted religious people. It's not disrespectful, just because something doesn't comply with your own standpoints or views (which I admittedly say, are ignorant views) doesn't make it disrespectful. It's a song, no one is forcing you to listen to it, don't comment on it. Same concept with the pro-life party ...if you have a belief that's not factual based at all...keep it to yourself. If Jesus was offended, he can come down and do something about it. I bet you he won't though.

All self-righteous Christian out there, include me in your prayers tonight. When you talk to your Jesus, tell him I said to go f-ck himself. Thank you, that will be all.

Here we go again....look we can all debate on the meaning or whether god exists or not, the point is (which is cleverly demonstrated here) we all have free will regardless of our beliefs. Either love it or hate it? I choose to love it.
