Just a bit of an add on to how you might interpret this song; if you've seen the music video it can be a little obvious the point they're trying to get across. A little guiding to it is that a few lyrics (like the last two paragraphs) are of the voice of the controller, or "God" in some viewpoints, being ashamed of the wrongdoings of a man, who had killed an innocent women. Or this creator could be replaced by someone who is watching from outside of another person, if that's understandable. Many things are explained within the music video. -Simply adding this if anyone is looking for interpretation.

I think the last few lines he is describing his children standing in the doorway wondering why their father would hurt their mother. "The sounds of my creation at my doorHow could you do this to her?" The nightmares he's been having would be that one day they would have kids,and this abuse would affect them as well. "The change in my future" - is now innocent children are subjected to his violent mood swings.
