About Pentagram
Pentagram is an American doom metal band formed in Alexandria, Virginia in 1971, widely regarded as one of the founding fathers of heavy doom alongside Black Sabbath. Led by the charismatic and troubled Bobby Liebling, their crushing riffs and occult-themed lyrics on songs like "Forever My Queen" and "Be Forewarned" helped define the template for doom metal's slow, heavy sound. Despite decades of lineup changes, substance abuse issues, and label problems that delayed proper recognition, albums like "Relentless" and "Curious Volume" showcase their enduring power to craft monolithic, hypnotic metal. Their influence on bands like Saint Vitus, Trouble, and countless stoner/doom acts has finally earned them the cult status they deserved all along.
