Pink Floyd – The Thin Ice Lyrics

Rock

Momma loves her baby
And daddy loves you too.
And the sea may look warm to you babe
And the sky may look blue
But ooooh Baby
Ooooh baby blue
Oooooh babe.

If you should go skating
On the thin ice of modern life
Dragging behind you the silent reproach
Of a million tear-stained eyes
Don't be surprised when a crack in the ice
Appears under your feet.
You slip out of your depth and out of your mind
With your fear flowing out behind you
As you claw the thin ice.

This is the one. #1 joint offa Pink Floyd's The Wall. Cracking, sinking, clawing. Slipping outta your depth & outta your mind/ With your fear flowing out behind you (like Donofrio's magnificent royal purple cape, in The Cell, as you claw the thin ice...Not the obvious choice, in this greatest hits album of singles that flow and coalesce together, as one/the Rock F'n Opera; but after years of consideration, top 5 , in its relative obscurity. I just love it. Like I love this album. Tops. Tommy who? Maybe the Crimson Idol can polish these titanic shoes...But this is the cream that rises to the top, as you sink 'neath the ice.
