About Shudder To Think
Shudder To Think was a Washington, D.C. post-hardcore band formed in 1986 who evolved from angular punk beginnings into one of the most inventive and theatrical rock acts of the 1990s. Led by Craig Wedren's soaring, operatic vocals and the band's complex, genre-defying arrangements, they created a unique sound that blended post-hardcore intensity with glam rock theatricality and pop sensibilities on albums like "Get Your Goat" and "Pebbles." Songs like "No Rm. 9, Kentucky" and "Sweet Year Old" showcased their ability to craft both crushing heaviness and delicate beauty, while their contribution to the "Velvet Goldmine" soundtrack highlighted their glam rock influences. Though they disbanded in 1998, Shudder To Think's fearless experimentation and refusal to be categorized made them cult favorites who influenced a generation of bands willing to push rock's boundaries.
