Sleigh Bells – Rill Rill Lyrics

Rock

Have a heart
Have a heart
Have a heart
16 666 and I know the part
You are the river flow
And we can never know
We're just a weatherman
You make the wind blow

Keep thinking about every straight face yes
Wonder what your boyfriend thinks about your braces
What about them?
I'm all about them
Six such straight As
Cut 'em in the bathroom

So, this is it then?
You're here to win friend
Click, click saddle up see you on the moon then
You're all alone friend
Pick up the phone then ring ring, call 'em up
Tell 'em about the new trends

So, this is it then?
You're here to win friend
Click, click saddle up see you on the moon then
You're all alone friend
Pick up the phone then ring ring, call 'em up
Tell 'em about the new trends

Have a heart
Have a heart
Have a heart
16 666 and we fell apart
We form a tarot pack
And I'm aware of that
But we could fist fight drunk like the parent trap

Keep thinking about every straight face, yes
Wonder what your boyfriend thinks about your braces
We never blink see
And you can see me
We fell asleep in the middle of the fury

So, this is it then?
You're here to win friend
Click, click saddle up see you on the moon then
You're all alone friend
Pick up the phone then ring ring, call 'em up
Tell 'em about the new trends

So, this is it then?
You're here to win friend
Click, click saddle up see you on the moon then
You're all alone friend
Pick up the phone then ring ring, call 'em up
Tell 'em about the new trends

Have a heart
Have a heart
Have a heart
16 666 and I know the part
You are the river flow
And we can never know
We're just the weatherman
You make the wind blow

Keep thinking about every straight face, yes
Wonder what your boyfriend thinks about your braces
What about them
I'm all about them
Six such straight As
Cut 'em in the bathroom

So, this is it then?
You're here to win friend
Click, click saddle up see you on the moon then
You're all alone friend
Pick up the phone then ring ring, call 'em up
Tell 'em about the new trends

So, this is it then?
You're here to win friend
Click, click saddle up see you on the moon then
You're all alone friend
Pick up the phone then ring ring, call 'em up
Tell 'em about the new trends

About This Song

"Rill Rill" is a dreamy, nostalgic track that captures the disorienting emotions of young love and adolescent uncertainty through fragmented, stream-of-consciousness lyrics. The song juxtaposes Sleigh Bells' signature wall of distorted guitars and pounding drums with unexpectedly tender vocals, creating a contrast between sonic aggression and emotional vulnerability. Lyrically, it explores themes of teenage romance, self-consciousness about appearance (like braces), and the confusion of trying to decode relationships and social dynamics. The track's title itself suggests something gentle and flowing, which mirrors the way memories and feelings ripple through the narrator's mind. This combination of harsh noise-pop production with intimate, almost whispered confessions became a defining characteristic of Sleigh Bells' early work, helping establish their unique position in the indie rock landscape. The song's ability to make abrasive sounds feel emotionally resonant made it a standout on their breakthrough album "Treats."

Very well done. There are a million idiots out there singing pentagon at the end of the 2nd line. This is perfect word for word I am sure but I have one suggestion. Instead of click click I think they say quick quick. A very minor detail. Hard to tell either way. Brilliant job. Nice to see someone getting something right on the web. Thanks for your effort!

I agree with the anonymous comment from Sept 8th about the million idiots singing pentagon! I have no f'ing idea where they get pentagon? I also agree the lyrics may be quick, quick rather than click, click, and I saw another post suggesting they are saying settle up rather than saddle up. Anyway, fantastic job on the lyrics!
