The Blizzards – Postcards Lyrics

Pop

I touch your shaking hands
But it just doesn't make a difference
I watch you kiss my head
Fall apart from sympathy
I could not say goodbye
The way that you would've wanted to
Under the darkest skies
I will be your shining light
And when you fail to catch your breath
You must try and not forget
That I'm still here
I'm the light that's surrounding you
Everytime your darkness comes
Yeah, I'm still here
These are postcards from heaven
Giving me the chance to say
Goodbye
No one can take from you
The memories and the legacies
Cursed by your broken song
I will do my best to mend you
(Take me back into your arms)
(Take me back into your arms)
And when your anger takes its toll
You may rise or you may fall
Yeah, I'm still here
I'm the light that's surrounding you
Everytime your darkness comes
Yeah, I'm still here
These are postcards from heaven
Giving me the chance to say
Goodbye
While angels hang their heads in sorrow
I embrace the time I have with you
And I will always be beside you
Lift you up when life can't help you
And though I cannot speak your name
Hold your hand or touch your skin
I'm still here
I'm the light that's surrounding you
Everytime your darkness comes
These are postcards from heaven
So I've a chance to say goodbye
Yeah, I'm still here
I'm the hand that is touching you
Everytime you shed a tear
Yeah, I'm still here
I'm the air that you're breathing
The heart that is beating
The pain that you're feeling
The love that fills your soul

This is the only song by the Blizzards I've heard. If it wasn't for the Café (TV show) this wouldn't have been one of my fave songs. I love it, especially the end..

This song was played at both my nephews funerals, they passed away within a week of each other, and its just perfect. The song always seemed to get so much louder during the prosession, just at the first chorus. Its absolutely beautiful. Its their song now, and it always will be. xxx

Over the last 2 months this song has come to mean so much to me and members of my family. It was played at the funerals of both my grandsons - who were born at 24 weeks and who left us after only 1 day and 8 days resepectively on this earth. We have so little to remember them by so hopefully this song helps fill the void and might help rebuild these shattered hearts.
