Tool – Stinkfist Lyrics

Rock

Something has to change, undeniable dilemma
Boredom's not a burden anyone should bear
Constant over-stimulation numbs me
But I would not want you any other way

Just not enough, I need more
Nothing seems to satisfy
I said I don't want it, I just need it
To breathe, to feel, to know I'm alive

Finger deep within the borderline
Show me that you love me
And that we belong together
Relax, turn around and take my hand

I can help you change tired moments into pleasure
Say the word and we'll be well upon our way
Blend and balance, pain and comfort
Deep within you 'til you will not want me any other way

But it's not enough, I need more
Nothing seems to satisfy
I said I don't want it, I just need it
To breathe, to feel, to know I'm alive

Knuckle deep inside the borderline
This may hurt a little
But it's something you'll get used to
Relax, slip away

(Relax, relax, relax, relax)

There's something kinda sad about
The way that things have come to be
Desensitized to everything
What became of subtlety?

How can this mean anything to me
If I really don't feel anything at all?
I'll keep digging
'Til I feel something

Elbow deep inside the borderline
Show me that you love me and that we belong together
Shoulder deep within the borderline
Relax, turn around and take my hand

its obvious this song is about someone introducing someone to gay sextitle: stinkfist / and each of the verses progress deepness: finger-deep, elbow-deep, etc and each end with "relax," (something yo have to do as the taker) "turn around and take my hand"the singer is bored with every other form of stimulation. delving into this was something to know he's alive. Not a far stretch considering they have an album cover with a man doing auto-fellatio on himself and they're watching.just gross...it ruined this song for me.

they like singing about perversions its their shock value; i had a gay friend tell me once that this song is about someone introducing someone else to homosexual sex by fisting (ie "balance of pain and pleasure") sick

figure it out: "the borderline" is the anus.

This song has Nothing to do with any kindsof sex...It&#039s about the addiction and use of drugs I&#039m thinking mainlining meth and with each member going into the borderline he&#039s becoming more and more addicted. He now needs the drugs to feel anything NOTHING TO DO WITH SEX!!!

The song isnt about drugs or sex, its about abandoning an old way of life for a new one; finding a new consciousness. It's meant to be an introduction to the rest of the album, which is mostly about spiritual awakening and a rejection of consumer culture. Maynard is inviting us to come with him on this journey.

what i love about took is they are not simple..its poetic...other bands dont know what that even means

The meaning of a song is not to relay the bands beliefs to others. I write songs that are inspired by whatever i'm going through at that moment and whatever it means to everyone else is completely moot. I hope people take whatever they need from my music which translates to; it means something different to everyone. Regardless, stinkfist freaking rocks. It's just a hard rocking piece of music.

practically every tool song sounds like it's about sex at the surface. Especially if you're a snickering teenager who just discovered how a penis fits in a vagina. a lot of them actually have the more mundane meaning of discovering yourself and your place within a relationship. as another poster mentioned about "crap" you have to work through; everyone comes to a relationship with baggage and eventually you push each other to work through it and come to closure together. there is an obvious reference to anal sex (not gay sex, anal. straight people do it too) because it is easy symbolism for all the emotional stuff people go through. it requires over submission and dominance at varying times, just like any relationship is give and take.

This song symbolizes anal sex and drug addiction. However you look at it.
