About Waltari
Waltari is a Finnish metal band formed in 1986 who became pioneers of genre-blending extreme music, fearlessly mixing death metal, progressive rock, symphonic elements, and even rap into their eclectic sound. Their breakthrough album "Yeah! Heavy Rock" (1992) and the ambitious rock opera "So Fine!" showcased their ability to seamlessly weave together brutal riffs with orchestral arrangements and unconventional song structures. Songs like "Below Zero" and their haunting cover of The Cure's "A Forest" demonstrate their range from crushing heaviness to atmospheric experimentation. Over nearly four decades, Waltari has remained one of Finland's most innovative metal exports, consistently pushing boundaries and refusing to be confined to any single genre.
