Emmylou Harris – I Never Will Marry Lyrics

Folk

Miscellaneous
I Never Will Marry
They say that love is a gentle thing;
But it's only brought me pain,
For the only man I've ever loved;
Is on that morning train.
(Chorus)
I never will marry
I'll be no man's wife
I expect to live single
All the days of my life.

The train pulled out the whistle blew;
That long and whining moan,
He's gone, he's gone like the morning dew;
And left me all alone.

(Repeat Chorus)
There's many a change in the winter wind;
And a change in the clouds design,
There's many a change in a young man's heart;
But never a change in mine.
(Repeat chorus)

    this song means a lot to me, because I was married to the most wonderful man in the world, and lost him because I was gang raped. and after finding him again many years later, we find that we are still in love with each other, but now he is married. So I never will marry.
