Oh Stylo
Go forth, blossom in your soul
When you know your heart is light
Electric is the love

When the mako flies
Up from the bottom in your eyes
Then I know the twilight skies
Are not so broken hearted

(About to go down)

Stylo, Stylo
Stylo, Stylo
Stylo-o-o-o-o-o, Stylo-o-o-o-o-o
Stylo-o-o-o-o-o
Elec-lec, electric is the...

Oh Stylo
Go forth, blossom in your soul
When you know your heart is light
Electric is the love

There's only one way
Let it pray a little while longer
It's got a way of passing through man and woman
In another world, in the universe...
Oohhh!

Love, electricity, shockwave central
Power on the motherboard, yes!

Push up, overload, legendary heavy glow
Sunshine, thunder roll, keep this on
Yes, the lantern burn, burn that easy
And broadcast, so raw and neatly
Thunder roll, sunshine
Work it out

Stylo, Stylo
Stylo, Stylo
Stylo-o-o-o-o-o, Stylo-o-o-o-o-o
Stylo-o-o-o-o-o
Elec-lec, electric is the...

Sing yourself
Out of depression, rise above
I'll be searching if I know your heart
Electric is the love

Yeah, uh!
I'm overwhelmed, like my poem reveals
I found my love electric flow in myself
Frozen my hell, my soul's in a shell
My opponents have failed
Haters undetected like a soldier with stealth
Pray for a happy ending, play my role in the film
That's the emotion we feel
Oh Stylo, let your love shine brighter than some white dough

(Here's what we got to do)

Love, electricity, shockwave central
Pummel on the motherboard, yes
(Right now!)
Push up, overload, legendary heavy glow
Sunshine, thunder roll, keep it all together
Yes the lantern burn, burn that easy
And broadcast, so raw and neatly
(Right now!)
Thunder roll, sunshine
Work it out

Electric!
(Stylo-o-o-o-o-o, Stylo-o-o-o-o-o)
Electric!
(Stylo-o-o-o-o-o, Stylo-o-o-o-o-o)
(I found my love electric)
Electric!
(Stylo-o-o-o-o-o, Stylo-o-o-o-o-o)
Electric!
(Stylo-o-o-o-o-o, Stylo-o-o-o-o-o)
(I-I-I found my love electric)

Electric!
Is all you need
So follow me
To the light
(I found my love electric)
Electric!
Is all you need
So follow me...

About This Song

"Stylo" is an electrifying fusion of hip-hop, electronic, and alternative rock that explores themes of technological overload and digital-age anxiety through vivid imagery of electrical systems and power surges. The lyrics use metaphors of circuitry, motherboards, and energy overload to capture the overwhelming sensation of modern life's constant connectivity and stimulation. Musically, the track features a driving bassline, synth-heavy production, and Bobby Womack's soulful vocals alongside rap verses, creating a sonic representation of the "overload" described in the lyrics. The repetitive chant of "overload" becomes both hypnotic and urgent, reflecting how technology can simultaneously energize and exhaust us. As part of Gorillaz's *Plastic Beach* concept album, "Stylo" stands out as a commentary on our relationship with digital culture, wrapped in an irresistibly catchy and forward-thinking sound that helped define the band's evolution into more electronic territories.

This song might be about how technology runs our lives, and how in love with it we all are. "Yes, this love is electric. It'll be flowing on the streets night after night, just to get through the week" shows how we need it, and how when we're alone we turn to technology, "When you're heart is light, electric is love" The repetitive "Overload" might be saying how technology has been used to the point of destruction. In the video, Stylo is broken down (even Noodle's broken)and in the end they go off a cliff. Stylo turns into a fish-thing, probably the mako, "When the mako flies, up from the bottom in your eyes, then i know the twilight skies. Not so broken-hearted" I still like thje searching for Noodle idea.

I think that this song is about 2 things: love, and about 2D and Noodle It talks about "mako", which is a reference to the mako energy form Final Fantasy VII, which comes from the energy of the "Life Stream", meaning the flow of life energy that encompases the whole world. Also, twilight sky have being symbol of the future and what's to come next in life.So when 2D sings about "When the mako fliesUp from the bottom in your eyesThen I know the twilight skiesNot so broken-hearted" I believe he means that "when I see the life coming from your eyes (in real life or in his mind), I believe that there is a better future/hope for the future".Then, he sings about "Sing yourself out of depression, rise aboveI'll be searching if I know your heart", he means "don't be depressed, sing like when we used to sing together and rise above your struggles and fate will bring us together again, and I will be looking out for when we are together again".And then I think the rest is pretty self explanatory, like the love spilling on to the treat Nesbit they have over flowing love for eachother. I don't know but this is what it seems to me to fit in with all the song and the story line of Gorillaz.

Stylo is totally awesome!!!!! It's about how much 2-D misses Noodle and how he sort of KNOWS she's still alive. He says "I'll be searching if I know your heart" which means that 2-D will never stop looking for her and that he reckons she won't stop looking for him either. And he talks about an "overload" so he's stressed and feels like he's having an overload. And also, he tries to put it out of his mind at night but is still struggling to get through a week without Noodle by his side. He also implies that the reason he still sings is to stop himself being depressed. Peace out Gorillaz fans! :)(ps, im going 2 c them in November :D)

well i love gorillaz, its my fav band, but in all honesty the first album is the best, a lil more upbeat, then as it progresses to plastic beach and the fall it does get more meloncholy, not their best but still pretty chill. On the subject of the meaning, i think plastic beach may have references to pollution as a heavy influence, but it could just simply be a composite island they sing about, but hey i dont follow the stories that much i just listen to the music.
