Waiting by the mailbox, by the train
Passing by the hills 'til I hear the name
I'm looking for a saw to cut these chains in half, and all I want is
Someone to rely on as thunder comes a rolling down
Someone to rely on as lightning comes a staring in again

I'll wait to be forgiven, maybe I never will
My star has left me to take the bitter pill
That shattered feeling, well, the cause of it's a lesson learned
Just don't know if I could roll into the sea again
"Just don't know if I could do it all again," she said, it's true

Waiting in my room and I lock the door
I watch the coloured animals across the floor
And I'm looking from a distance
And I'm listening to the whispers
And, oh, it ain't the same when you're falling out of feeling
And you're falling in and caught again
Ca-au-au-aught again

I'm caught again in the mystery
You're by my side, but are you still with me?
The answer's somewhere deep in it, I'm sorry, but you're feeling it
But I just have to tell you that I love you so much these days
Have to tell you that I love you so much these days, it's true

My heart is in economy, due to this autonomy
Rolling in and caught again
Ca-au-au-aught again
Ca-au-au-aught again
Ca-au-au-aught again

My heart is in economy (ca-au-au-aught again)
Due to this autonomy (ca-au-au-aught again)
Rolling in and caught again
Ca-au-au-aught again

About This Song

"To Binge" is a haunting meditation on dependency, abandonment, and the cyclical nature of destructive relationships, wrapped in Gorillaz's signature melancholic electronica. The song explores the psychological aftermath of being left behind by someone crucial-whether a romantic partner, mentor, or guiding figure-with the protagonist trapped in a liminal space of waiting and hoping for reconciliation that may never come. The title itself suggests both literal binging as escapism and the broader concept of excess as a coping mechanism for emotional pain. Musically, the track features a hypnotic, downtempo beat with ethereal synths and subdued hip-hop elements that create an atmosphere of foggy introspection, perfectly complementing the sense of being emotionally adrift. The lyrics reveal someone who recognizes their own role in the relationship's destruction ("I'll wait to be forgiven / Maybe I never will") while simultaneously feeling victimized and abandoned. The imagery of chains, storms, and bitter pills suggests both self-imposed limitations and external forces beyond the protagonist's control. What makes the song particularly resonant is its honest portrayal of toxic dependency-the way people can become addicted to relationships that ultimately harm them, yet continue waiting by metaphorical mailboxes for signs of redemption. The track captures the specific kind of depression that comes from knowing you're stuck in a destructive pattern but feeling powerless to break free, making it deeply relatable for listeners who've experienced similar emotional entrapment.

"I watch the coloured animals accross the floor" didn't make sense until I thought of the picture of cyborg-N and 2D with the sweepstakes game, and all the coloured animals that are prizes, like a game in some carnival. I love this song, and assume it's 2D and Noodle singing together, well that's just what I like to think :] --lol at the 1st poster.

I bet it's 2D singing about Murdoc. Murdoc's voice sucks though so they had to get a female voice to sing his parts.

The song sounds like it's about two people who recently broke up, but still love each other and are afraid to fall in love with each other again. In the first verse the female is waiting for a letter from the male, and thinking about hoe much she needs him.In the second verse the male has sent the letter and waits for a reply, all the while thinking of how he's afraid of falling in love for fear of heartbreak. At the end of the verse, I think the words the words "She said, 'It's true'" signify the girl's confirmation of her love for him, because the next verse the guy sings is talking about how he's fallen in love again.

In the beginning, the girl is waiting hopelessly for a letter from the boy, but he never sends one and she just wants to cut the chains to be free from him because of the pain that he causes her.Now they've broken up and he realizes his wrongs and wants her back, not knowing if she'll ever forgive him. He doesn't know if he could fall in love again, and she said, "it's true," agreeing. She starts to fall for him again but is hesitant and he isn't sure what they are. He tells her how he feel about her to tries and make her stay.

For me, this song is about the intrinsic paradox in male / female relationships. Women want someone to care for them, to take them away and show them excitement and someone to rely on. Men are more confused and want love but also sex.The girl is hurt by the guy's infidelity, but she still misses him, although she can't forgive him. He regrets his mistake, and now realises his love for her when he's most in danger of losing her. He was unfaithful because he was scared of commitment - he binged on sex. But now he realises he's been caught again by love....

some of you don't think that it's about Noodle and 2D because it sounds more like two people who've had a fight, but why were they separated in the first place? In Feel Good Inc 2D is left in the building while noodle flies away. Maybe Noodle was mad that 2D was there, because it was obviously some sort of strip club? Now the two are over the fight and want to find eachother. But neither know where the other is...

This reminds me a bit of myself,To me, It seems as though they were in love, but the boy made mistakes, that he regrets, and hes not sure if hell ever be forgiven, but then she wants him back, and he still loves her, but hes not sure what they are anymore. Reminds me so much of my situation right now, i just couldnt take it anymore, so i just stopped thins between us completely, and trying to move on

this reminds me of something, its about some guy, who&#039s girl he loves always thinks he wants other girls. She leaves him because she&#039s so suspicious, He misses her, and only wants her. too.
