It's about the exasperation of the cycle of living the life of an addict - or someone who MIGHT be an addict - that you realize the cost, but you can can't stop because while you want to be clean you eithe can;t resist getting high or can't deal with withdrawl (we're NOT talking about weed here folks)... it's a cycle, and you haven't hit bottom - and the person knows that they can go into recovery when they need to - again ,all part of the cycle... It's an interesting song, and I think you have to have been through this to understand how clear it is....

They're talking about addiction to painkillers and the like. If you listen to a few other songs across their albums you'll see there's always one or two that mention addiction, and incline that it's painkillers. (EX: mentioning needles and pain in Antistar.)Also yea, gotta go through this or see it first hand to understand the song."I wanna be clean but i gotta get high!! But how ??!!" They're not asking or stating that it's possible to achieve both. >_>

Is pretty clear to me the song talks about heroin addiction. Of someone that is clean, but is hard to resist get back to the habbit, because is always a delight pain and trouble mental state be high on heroin. And you know the costs of back to clean are gonna be really high. I know very good this situation.
