Metallica Books Eight Vegas Sphere Shows for Fall 2026

Metallica will take over Las Vegas's Sphere venue for eight nights across October 2026, the band confirmed today. The residency, titled "Life Burns Faster," marks the metal outfit's first extended run at the high-tech arena.

The shows fall on October 1, 3, 15, 17, 22, 24, 29, and 31. Like their recent M72 World Tour, Metallica will maintain their "No Repeat Weekend" format—no song gets played twice across the Thursday and Saturday dates. Tickets for both multi-night and single packages go on sale March 6 at 10am PT.

Lars Ulrich watched U2 open the Sphere in 2023 and immediately knew the band belonged there. "About 12 seconds into the opening night of Sphere with U2 back in '23, I thought 'We have to do this, it's completely uncharted territory!'" the drummer said. "This residency gives us another chance to reinvent how we interact with our fans in a live setting. We are beyond excited to share this with the world in six months time, and way fuckin' psyched to go next-level!"

The venue's wrapped LED display and immersive sound system will frame the performances. Attendees get Sphere Immersive Sound and 4D multi-sensory technology, turning each night into what organizers call "a wholly unique and entirely new Metallica experience."

Kirk Hammett praised the Sphere's potential last year, calling it "a great example of how venues are changing." He noted the setup uses "modern technology to the fullest, to really up the levels of production and entertainment, connected to AI and making it a crazy experience." Bassist Robert Trujillo added that the "possibilities are endless" at the location.

Before Vegas, Metallica hit the UK and Europe later this year, including two nights at London Stadium in July plus stops in Dublin, Glasgow, and Cardiff.
