Ringo Starr Teams With St. Vincent for Country-Tinged 'Long Long Road'

Ringo Starr refuses to slow down. The **Beatles** legend just dropped news of his latest album 'Long Long Road,' arriving April 24 through UMe, and he's assembled quite the crew for this 10-track journey into Americana territory. **St. Vincent**, **Billy Strings**, and **Sheryl Crow** all lend their talents to what marks Starr's second collaboration with producer **T Bone Burnett** in just over a year.

The record kicks off with lead single "It's Been Too Long," featuring harmonies from bluegrass virtuosos **Molly Tuttle** and **Sarah Jarosz**. Starr sounds genuinely excited about this musical partnership, explaining how the album "just sort of happened" after wrapping 2025's 'Looking Up.' "I'm blessed to have T Bone in my life right now," the drummer tells us, adding with characteristic humor, "I like to say sometimes I make the right moves, you can go left or right at any point."

What's fascinating here is how Burnett views Starr through a distinctly American lens. The producer reveals he's always heard "Ringo as a Texas artist," writing him "a Gene Autry-type song" after they met at a poetry reading. This country influence runs deep throughout 'Long Long Road,' including a cover of Carl Perkins' obscure gem "I Don't See Me in Your Eyes Anymore." The supporting cast reads like a Nashville all-star lineup: Paul Franklin, Dennis Crouch, and Colin Linden anchor the sound.

At 86 this July, Starr proves age means nothing when you're still discovering new musical territories. He'll hit the road briefly this spring and summer, starting May 28 in Temecula, California, and wrapping June 14 in Los Angeles. For a guy who's been on that long, long road since the early '60s, he's still finding fresh paths to explore.
