PinkPantheress Wins BRIT Awards 2026 Producer Of The Year
PinkPantheress has been named Producer Of The Year at the 2026 BRIT Awards, making her the youngest person and the first woman ever to receive the honor. The announcement dropped Monday, February 23, ahead of the ceremony this weekend.
The 2026 BRITs are making history in more ways than one — the show moves to Manchester's Co-op Live, the first time in the awards' nearly 50-year history that it's taken place outside of London. A panel of expert judges from the music production industry selected PinkPantheress for the award, putting her name alongside past winners like A.G. Cook, Calvin Harris, Fred Again.., and Paul Epworth.
PinkPantheress spoke about the win with a mix of pride and purpose. "As the first woman to win this award, I'm grateful to be recognised," she said. "My music production is the thing I'm proudest of, and I've worked really hard at it, so I hope this inspires others to pursue their passion."
Stacey Tang, Chair of the 2026 BRIT Awards Committee and Co-President of RCA Records at Sony Music UK, had plenty to say about why the choice made sense. "PinkPantheress is both an inventive and instinctive voice in British pop right now. As a producer, she's precise and playful, building bold, boundary expanding sounds that travel beyond the UK." Tang added: "She's quietly reshaping what modern pop can be, and in doing so, opening the door for a new wave of female producers to step forward. Celebrating her at the BRITs is both timely and significant."
Beyond the Producer Of The Year win, PinkPantheress is also nominated in the Artist of the Year and Dance Act categories, so she could be walking away with even more hardware on the night.
The wider ceremony is stacked. Jacob Alon has been confirmed as the winner of the BRITs Critics' Choice Award, and Mark Ronson takes home the Outstanding Contribution to Music honor. Noel Gallagher picks up Songwriter Of The Year following Oasis' massive Live '25 reunion tour. Jack Whitehall returns to host for the sixth time, and this year's trophy was designed by Matthew Williamson.
Leading the nominations pack are Olivia Dean, Lola Young, Sam Fender, Lily Allen, and rapper Jim Legxacy. The night's performers include Harry Styles, Olivia Dean, EJAE of HUNTR/X, Audrey Nuna, REI AMI, Wolf Alice, Mark Ronson, Alex Warren, Sombr, and Rosalía. The show airs live on ITV and YouTube.
The Producer Of The Year recognition arrives on the back of a genuinely massive run for PinkPantheress. Her single 'Illegal' — released as part of her 'Fancy That' Mixtape — went on to be named NME's Song of the Year, described as an "adrenaline-fuelled thrillride" combining "winking storytelling smarts, artful sampling, cheeky culture-defining quips and dance floor-filling beats."
When NME asked her why 'Illegal' connected with so many people, she kept it honest: "I don't know if it's anything too deep, other than having a [TikTok] trend for it helped and also the sample is quite timeless. I think the power of the beat itself is what people really like about it."
